True. Bjørn Dæhlie of Norway gave me his World Cup silver medal. It is not gold, it is not good enough. But these people thought this was a gold-plated lie. Got you!

I’m friends with a hijacker

Sadly, this is true. Mark, as we knew him, had the distinction of being the first person to attempt a hijacking on a Qantas jet. He served time in a correctional facility in Australia for the criminally insane and is now a free man. His former wife is happily remarried and a pretty badass surfer who happens to be a mayor.

I met Brooke Shields at the Australian Open when she was dating Andre Agassi

Lie. I was not important enough to get quarter-finals seats or to approach Brooke without being straight-armed. We did attend the first round and saw Brooke Shields in our section, but that is as much truth as is in this lie.

Graham Cooke guessed correctly but only because he thought I was too young, so he wins twice. Mhstuart also thought I was too young, so gold star (and a silver medal!).
